Cleaning is not an afterthought
On most projects, cleaning is something someone remembers a week before handover. Treated that way it costs more, takes longer, and holds up the last inspection. Planned into the programme it is cheaper and largely invisible.
Three points where it pays
A builder's clean is a real scope
A post-construction clean is not a domestic clean. It means removing construction dust from surfaces you would not normally touch, dealing with paint and adhesive residue, and cleaning glass and fittings without scratching them. Different products, different equipment, and staff who have done it before.
Put it in the programme
Book the clean when you book the trades. It is the last thing the client experiences before handover, and the first thing they judge the build on.
